Reliance distributes school-kits in 69 village schools of Jamnagar
Ahmedabad: Jamnagar, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL), in a unique drive to promote education in rural areas, distributed 1545 school-kits to students in 69 schools of 42 villages surrounding its industrial complex in Jamnagar district.
In Jamnagar taluka, 942 students of 32 schools in 18 villages were presented with school-kits. In Lalpur taluka, 578 students of 37 schools in 24 villages received the kits. Reliance's Jamnagar refinery complex is surrounded by these villages.
Prf.Vasuben Trivedi, the minister for higher and technical education, women and child welfare and district panchayat President Dr. P.B.Vasoya encouraged the children. Deputy Conservator of forest, Sardar Sarovar project, Gandhinagar, Shri S.D.Vora and Mamlatdar Shri M.M.Vansadia also distributed the school-kits in Charntungi, Ragpar and Mota lakhia villages in Lalpur taluka. Their presence boosted the moral of the villagers and elated the girl-students; besides that of Reliance's officials.
Officials of Reliance, Jamnagar in tune with the local administration; personally visited these villages and distributed school-kits. The school-kits contained a school-bag, slate-pen, pencil, note-book, color-pencil, eraser, sharpner, foot-rule and a compass-box.
Reliance has been actively participating in the state government's drive to encourage girls to undertake education since last six years. Villagers and district administration had all praise for Reliance's liberal support and whole-hearted participation in a drive to motivate girls especially, to take up education in right earnest.
