Indian Immunologicals Ltd., launches a hormone for improving reproduction in dairy cattle

Ahmedabad: Indian Immunologicals Limited (IIL), the largest veterinary biological company in the country, introduced FOLYSON - a hormone for dairy cattle that significantly improves their reproduction rates. A function to mark the occasion was organized at Hotel Aditya Park in Hyderabad and was presided over by Dr.M.V.Reddy, Director(AH), Government of AP.

Speaking on the occasion Dr.Reddy said, "A dairy cow or buffalo should produce a calf every year in order to give milk on a regular basis. Delayed reproduction can cause milk production to cease and then dairy farming becomes unviable as farmers have to keep feeding the animal without any returns".

According to Dr.G.S.Reddy, Chief General Manager, IIL, "Hormonal imbalance accounts for 76% of the total causes of infertility and is one of the biggest barriers to timely reproduction. FOLYSON (Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin hormone) would address the problems of anovulatory heat, cystic ovarian degeneration and early embryonic deaths and significantly reduce hormonal deficiency related infertility in dairy cattle'.
