Dutch Water Solutions for India: Two-day seminar & exhibition organised by NBSO in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Every year in October the NBSO in Ahmedabad highlights one Dutch Sector.

This year we have chosen Water. The Dutch have always been known for the prowess in taming the tides and everything there is to know about water. In Gujarat almost all water projects have been influenced in one way or the other by Dutch knowledge or technologies. It could be drinking, irrigation or even harbour technologies.

With an end to the development co-operation and its funding, the sector, though much needed, practically disappeared from the Gujarat Scenario. Interaction with various Dutch companies proved to us that there was still interest from their side to not only showcase their new technologies but also to find projects to undertake.

Keeping this in mind, the NBSO Ahmedabad has taken it upon itself to organise a free two-day seminar, with a goal to bring the Dutch Water sector again in the limelight. To provide a platform to Dutch Water companies to present themselves individually and collectively to government policy makers, companies, education institutes and students.

The two-day event will cover two major sub sectors in water. Day 1 (on the 9th of October 2009) will be dedicated to Water & Agriculture, whereas day 2 (on the 10th) will be all about Water in Industrial and urban context.

The seminar will allow only for presentation of technologies to create awareness and share knowledge about new and innovative Dutch Solutions, while company and product promotion will be made possible in the form of an exhibition and documentation. This will make it possible for companies to meet each other on their own terms without the interference of others, working towards concrete actions and cluster-forming for long term co-operation and solutions.
