Reducing popularity of Gandhian philosophy, 2000 students reduced

Ahmedabad: To spread Gandhian philosophy, the Gujarat Vidyapeath conducts special exams about Gandhian thoughts and introduction, but this year 2000 students are reduced and not a single student appears at the exam from puna.

For the last 30 years the Gujarat Vidypeath has been conducting exams about Gandhian thoughts in Gujarat and Maharshtra. Mumbai, Puna and all over the Gujarat there are exam centers. The examination co-ordinater from Gujarat Vidyapeath Mrs. Rita Dave told that the last year 26,000 students appeared at the examination but this year 24,010 students are appearing at this exam. There are three types of examination VIZ Gandhian thoughts and introduction for the higher level. This examination is meant for the students of std. 11 and above and in this exam there are two question papers each caries 100 marks and the duration is six hours.

The second examination is also about Gandhian thoughts and his entry. It is for students below 11th standard and above 8th STD.

The third is the about Gandhian's life. It is meant for the student between STD 5 to 7. I.e. students from STD 5 to 7 can appear at this examination.

The maximum number of students in Gujarat is from Bardoli and Baroda centers.

At present these examination are conducted four languages VIZ Gujarat, English, Hindi and Marathi but the next year this examination will be in Urdu language.10 year ago about 1,25,000 students appeared for this exam. That was the highest number of examinees at these examinations.
