Congress worker on Maharashtra poll campaign killed in accident

Ahmedabad: A Youth Congress worker from Gujarat was killed and three others injured in a road accident during election campaigning for the October 13 Maharashtra Assembly polls in the state's Jalgaon district yesterday, party sources said.

Body of the Congress activist Rajen Patel was brought here this morning and his last rites were performed at Vasna crematorium, the sources said.

Leader of the Opposition in the state Assembly Shaktisinh Gohil offered floral tributes to Patel's mortal remains and also attended the funeral.

Patel was engaged in campaigning, along with Gujarat Youth Congress President Indravijay Singh Gohil.
