Alstom-Bharat Forge JV to set up unit at Mundra

By ENN, Mundra (Kutchh): Alstom Bharat Forge Power a 51:49 JV formed between Alstom and Bharat Forge to manufacture power equipment is likely to set up a plant at Mundra in Gujarat at an outlay of INR 2400 crore.

According to sources, the company is to set up an integrated power equipment manufacturing facility to produce technologically advanced turbines and generators. The plant to spread over 120 acre, will have the capacity to produce equipment for 5,000 MW.

Construction work is likely to begin by January 2010 and is expected to be operational by 2013.
